HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College senior basketball player Stephanie Silvas (Dexter, N.M.) was honored this past week by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as she earned the KCAC Champions of Character Award.


The award is given out weekly by the conference to student athletes who demonstrate excellence in athletics, in the classroom, and in the communities in which they live. Silvas, a captain, four-year letter winner and two-year starter for the Lady Jays, averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per-game this season. She also had 36 steals.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College freshman basketball standout Tynan Honn (Hutchinson, Kan.) had been recognized by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference for her efforts this season as she was named to two All-KCAC Teams.


Honn, apost player for the Lady Jays, was named to the Honorable Mention All-KCAC Team as well as the All-KCAC Freshmen Team, an honorgiven to the top five freshmen in the conference.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Women's Basketball season came to a close Thursday night in Winfield, Kan., where the sixth-seeded Lady Jays fell to third seed Southwestern College, 67-40.


A slow start put Tabor down early as Southwestern scored 34 first half points in route to a 15 first half point lead, 34-19.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Women's Basketball Team closed out regular season play Saturday night in Wichita, Kan., falling to Friends University, 64-57.


Tabor, which finished in a tie for sixth place in the conference standings, will be the sixth seed and travel to play third-seeded Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. at 7 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 24, in the Quarterfinals of the KCAC Conference Tournament.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Women's Basketball Team fell to the visiting Lady Spires of the University of Saint Mary, 47-44, on Thursday night.


Tabor, who had won the previous match-up in Leavenworth in early January, turned the ball over 23 times and failed to crash the boards, leading to 17 second chance points for Saint Mary.Both teams traded leads throughout the first half and Tabor held a 22-21 lead at halftime.
