WICHITA, KS - KCAC Commissioner, Dr. Scott Crawford, announced Jordan Crosson of Tabor College today as the 2009-2010 KCAC Champion of Character Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Crosson, a junior volleyball player at Tabor during the 2009-2010 school year, is the first recipient of this new award established by the conference.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College Head Volleyball Coach Amy Ratzlaff  has been named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference's 2010 Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character recipient.


The award is named after Dr. Walker, President emeritus of the United States Olympic Committee who served as president through the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games. Dr. Walker is a graduate of Benedict College (S.C.) and a former president of the NAIA.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - Moundridge High School seniors Hollister Wolf (Moundridge, Kan.) and Jessie Vogts (Moundridge, Kan.) have signed letters of intent to play volleyball next season for the 2009 KCAC conference champion Tabor College Bluejays.


Wolf, a 5-4 setter, and Vogts, a 6-0 outside hitter, helped lead the Wildcats to a 36-9 record, a second place finish in the Canton tournament, a share of the Heart of America league title, the sub-state tournament title, and the 2009 Class 2A State title.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - Halstead High School senior Rachel Phillips (Halstead, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball next season for the 2009 KCAC conference champion Tabor College Bluejays.


Phillips, a 5-7 setter, will be looked at to provide an immediate impact next season for the Bluejays as both a setter and defensive specialist.

Hillsboro, Kan. - Coming off the heels of its seventh KCAC regular season title in the past eleven years, the Tabor College Volleyball team was honored this past week as five Bluejays were named to the All-KCAC Teams including two Player of the Year selections, three First Team All-KCAC selections, and two Second Team All-KCAC selections.


Senior Ashley Cohlmia (Wichita, Kan.) and sophomore Mandi Phillips (Halstead, Kan.) were both named KCAC Player's of the Year and earned First Team All-KCAC selections. Cohlmia was named KCAC Volleyball Player of the year, and Phillips was named KCAC Setter of the Year.
