Hillsboro, Kan - Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference honored seven Bluejay football players for their efforts this season as they were named to the All-KCAC Teams.

Freshman running back Derek Washington (Spanish Camp, Texas.) received top honors as he was named Second Team All-Conference. Washington ran for 881 yards on the season, good for third in the conference despite only playing in eight games. His 10 touchdowns and 6.6 yards per carry were tops in the conference in both categories. Washington averaged 110 yards per game ranking him 11 in total offense.

The Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes took some of the excitement out of the air at Tabor's groundbreaking party Saturday, defeating the Bluejays 63-34 on six passing touchdowns by Drew Dallas. Tabor scored five rushing touchdowns-Marc Amos had three-but the defense had few answers for the Coyotes offensive scheme. KW totaled 230 rushing yards and 235 passing, but behind the curtain of Wesleyan's big-play passes and nearly balanced yardage totals was a lopsidedness in favor of the run, which the Bluejays were unable to contain.

Hillsboro, Kan. - On a cool and breezy Saturday afternoon, and with a thin cloud of diesel smoke wafting through the air, Tabor College and Unified School District 410 broke ground for a jointly-funded facility for football, soccer, and track and field.

The Bluejays came up short in their last game of the season on Nov. 15, but the final score could not prevent players, fans and other members of the Hillsboro community from celebrating a huge victory at Reimer Field-the Anticipation Party and Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Joel Wiens Stadium.

The football players pulled down the goalposts to make room for new ones. And the old field was plowed because, if everything goes according to schedule, local athletes will be playing on a new field made of artificial turf next fall.

Q:
It's been an exciting season, especially these past two weeks with victories over Southwestern and McPherson. What factors have contributed to your success?

A: First I'd like to be quick to say, our success is not my own, this has been a huge team effort. It has been the steady consistent play by players on both sides of the ball. It has been a stubborn determination and trust in God that he would show favor with our team. We want to be quick to say and clear about giving Him all the credit for any good things that are happening right now and in the future.
