NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships March 4-6

HILLSBORO, Kan. - With the end of the indoor track season, four Tabor College track and field athletes have qualified for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships, to be held at East Tennessee State University March 4-6.


Tabor qualifiers for the National meet include senior Tasia Johnson (New Orleans, La.) in the long jump and the 60 meter dash; seniors Kelli Kopper (Cimarron, Kan.) and Justin Ball (Welda, Kan.) in the 600 meter run; and freshman Emily Post (Wray, Colo.) in the triple jump.

HILLSBORO, Kan. - Senior Tabor College long jumper Tasia Johnson (Dallas, Texas) improved on her own school record and qualified for the 2010 NAIA Women's Indoor National Track and Field Championships this past Saturday at the Scott Nisely Classic, held at Doane College in Crete, Neb.

Hillsboro, Kan. - Bishop Thomas K. Gorman High School graduate DeAndrea Pierce (Arp, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to compete in both track and field and volleyball next season for the Lady Jays.


Pierce, a 5-10, sprinter, earned the Most Outstanding Track Award during her senior year as she helped lead Bishop Thomas K. Gorman High School to two district titles, a regional title and a regional runner-up finish during her career.

Hillsboro, Kan. - Southeastern High School of Technology graduate Ricaya Edwards (Detroit, Mich.) has signed a letter of intent to run track next season for the Lady Jays.


Edwards, a 5-6, sprinter and hurdler, was a four-year letter winner and named team captain during her career for the Lions.

Hillsboro, Kan. - Collegiate Academy of Colorado graduate Leah Blackburn (Littleton, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to compete in both track and field and cross country next season for Tabor College.


Blackburn, a 5'2, distance runner, will be looked at to help provide depth in the long distance events next season for the Lady Jays track and field team.
