Westminster High School graduate Chelsey Acree (Arvada, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to run track next spring for the Bluejays.


Acree, a 5'3, 1500 meter and 400 meter runner, will add depth to both events for the Tabor College Women's Track Team next season.

Cross country and track standout Heidi Schmidt, a senior from Enid, Okla., has been named Most Valuable Female Athlete at Tabor College for the 2007-2008 school year.


Schmidt, who set new Tabor record in 1500m with a time of 4:54.01 this season, was a KCAC All-Conference performer in both sports for the past four seasons.

The largest number of Tabor athletes in many years will compete at the NAIA Outdoor National Track & FIeld Championships May 22-24 in in St. Louis, Mo.


Two more individuals stamped their ticket to the national meet this past Thursday in a Last Chance Qualifier Meet held at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan.


Senior Jeff Harms met the qualifying standard in the high jump with a personal best of 6' 6" . Junior Breanna Wray met qualifying standards in the hammer throw with a heave of 158' 11" as well as in the shot put with a toss of 41' 3".
