Athletic Background:
Coach Gayer played tennis at McPherson High School before taking his passion to Tabor College where he was a four-year member of the Bluejays tennis team from 2006-2009. During his final season with the Bluejays, Gayer was honored by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as a Second Team All-Conference performer.
Following his playing career Gayer has spent the past two seasons as an assistant Coach for both the men's and women's tennis teams here at Tabor College.
Academic Background:
Graduated from Tabor College in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.
Family:
My family is a huge part of my life. I am from McPherson, Kan. and I still go back to hang out with the family when I get the chance. Both of my parents, as well as my two younger siblings, have all played collegiate-level tennis. I guess you could say that tennis runs in our family.
Coaching Style:
My goal is to get the best result out of each individual player. I view each practice as an opportunity to improve a player's game, and I firmly believe that your improvement will be a reflection of the effort that you put in.
What is special about athletics at Tabor:
Tabor has always been a special place for me. As a player I always had a strong sense of camaraderie with my teammates, and now as a coach I have the privilege of watching my players form those same bonds.
