HILLSBORO, Kan. - First Baptist Academy graduate Aaron Garza (San Antonio, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to play soccer next season at Tabor College.
Garza, 5-10, 148-pound left back, was a three-year varsity player and two year captain while helping lead the Eagles to back-back regional titles, a state runner-up finish, and a state title in 2008.
During the course of his career at First Baptist Academy
Garza was a three year First Team All-District selection including All-District
MVP honors in 2007 and a two-time First Team All-State selection for the
Eagles. Garza was also selected as the recipient of the ACSI Distinguished
Christian High School award given to a student who is selected for outstanding
achievement in athletics.
He has also excelled in the classroom as a member of the
National Honor Society, an Academic All-State selection, and the recipient of
the Academics First Honors given to a student achieving academic excellence and
Christ like character.
"Aaron is a great addition to Tabor College and our soccer program," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Grant Brubacher. "He is very talented on and off the soccer field and will contribute to campus in many different ways. On the field, he will push for playing time immediately and grow into a fine college soccer player. I am truly thrilled that Aaron has chosen Tabor College."
Aaron is the son of Dale and Marcy Garza.
