HILLSBORO, Kan. - University of Texas at Dallas transfer Clayton Maloy (Van Alstyne, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to play baseball next season at Tabor College.

Maloy, a 6-2, 240-pound first baseman and designated hitter, was named Cedar Valley College Male Athlete of the Year as he batted .358, with 19 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 55 RBI's in 2008.

During his high school career Maloy was a four-time All-League selection, a three-time Team MVP and All-State selection as a third baseman, a two-time Conference MVP, and an All-State Honorable Mention Pitcher, and Offensive Conference MVP.

"Clayton has the ability to hit 20 plus home runs," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He poses outstanding strength and great hand eye coordination. "He also has the ability to go both ways with the ball which will allow him to hit for a high average. Clayton will be the anchor of or offense, and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Bluejays uniform."

Clayton is the son of Phil and Sheila Maloy.
