HILLSBORO, Kan. - East Central University transfer Koby Temple (Mesa, Ariz.) has signed a letter of intent to play baseball next season at Tabor College.


Temple, a 5-11, 180-pound third baseman, second baseman, and outfielder, will be looked at to make a major impact both on the field and at the plate next season for the Bluejays.


During his freshman season at East Central University Temple, batted .426, with nine home runs while slugging .738, ranking him fifth, ninth, and second in the Lone Star Conference respectively. He also hit seven doubles, two triples and drove in 40 runs on his way to earning Second Team All-Conference honors.


"We are all very excited to have a player of Koby's talent here at Tabor," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He has proven to be a great hitter at the Division II level and I believe He has the ability to play at the next level, based on his talent, work ethic, and personality. Koby will play a big part in offense and I look forward to working with him in the fall."


Koby is the son of Scott and Pat Temple.
