HILLSBORO, Kan. - Garden City Community College transfer Colby Tessendorf (Newton, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play baseball next season at Tabor College.

Tessendorf, a 5-10, 165-pound middle infielder, helped lead the Broncobusters to the Jayhawk West title in 2009.

During his career at Newton High School Tessendorf earned Third Team All-Conference honors during his junior season and First Team All-Conference honors during his senior season as the Railroaders everyday shortstop. He will be looked at to help provide depth at multiple positions next season for the Bluejays.

"Colby is a rare player that can play every infield and outfield position on the field," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He is a true athlete that will see time at second and short as well as in the outfield. Colby is also blessed with outstanding speed and can cause havoc on the base paths."

Colby is the son of Chris and Kelley Tessendorf.
