HILLSBORO, Kan. -
Wichita East High School graduate J. Quentin Brown (Wichita, Kan.) has signed a
letter of intent to compete in cross country and track and field at Tabor
College.
In cross country, Brown was a two-year letter winner while
serving as team captain during his senior year for the Aces.
He also helped lead Wichita East High School to back-to-back
state qualifying appearances, while helping the Aces to a third place
finish at the city meet and a second place finish at the regional meet in 2009.
"I am very excited to have Quentin join our team this fall,"
said Head Cross Country Coach Dan Swaney. "I know he will work extremely hard
for us both athletically and in the classroom."
In track and field Brown competed in the 3200 meters, 1600
meters, and the steeplechase, and will be looked at to help provide depth to
the Bluejays track and field team next season."
"Quinten will bring much needed depth to our men's distance
runners," said Head Track and Field Coach Dave Kroeker. "I'm looking forward to
seeing him develop into a very competitive runner over the next four years."
Quentin is the son of Jeff Brown and Teresa Ulrich.
