HILLSBORO, Kan. - Butler County
Community College transfer Bret Lentz
(Andover, Kan.)
has signed a letter of intent to play soccer next season at Tabor College.
Lentz, a 6-1, 185-pound
outfielder and designated hitter, helped lead the Grizzles to the KJCCC Western
Conference and Sub-Regional titles this past season with a record of 39-18.
During his career at
Andover High School Lentz led the state of Kansas in hitting ranking him 22nd
in the nation. He also earned First Team All-State and All-League honors as a designated
hitter, and Second Team All-League honors as a catcher.
"Bret is a great sign for Tabor College,"
said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He is an outstanding student, a
great athlete, and an even better person. He will come in and give us instant
help offensively and in the outfield next season."
