HILLSBORO, Kan. - Butler County Community College transfer Bret Lentz (Andover, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play soccer next season at Tabor College.

Lentz, a 6-1, 185-pound outfielder and designated hitter, helped lead the Grizzles to the KJCCC Western Conference and Sub-Regional titles this past season with a record of 39-18.

During his career at Andover High School Lentz led the state of Kansas in hitting ranking him 22nd in the nation. He also earned First Team All-State and All-League honors as a designated hitter, and Second Team All-League honors as a catcher.

"Bret is a great sign for Tabor College," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He is an outstanding student, a great athlete, and an even better person. He will come in and give us instant help offensively and in the outfield next season."

Bret is the son of Tom and Melinda Lentz.
