HILLSBORO, Kan. -
Horizon Christian
Academy graduate Bashieff Jones Jr. (San Diego, Calif.) has
signed a letter of intent to play football next season for Tabor College.
Jones, a 5-10, 165-pound defensive back, was a two-time
All-League performer for the Panthers while being named best defensive back
during his freshman season. He will be looked at to add depth and help
strengthen the Bluejays defensive secondary next season.
During his career at Horizon Christian
Academy, Jones helped
lead the Panthers to the second round of the playoffs for three straight years
during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He has also excelled in the
classroom as he was named a member of the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic
Team.
"Bashieff is what you look for in a defensive back," said
Head Football Coach Mike Gardner. "He's smart, has good ball skills, quick
feet, and can play the run." I really like his competitive spirit as well, and
I look forward to working with him this fall."
Bashieff is the son of Bashieff Jones Sr. and Frances Izor.
