HILLSBORO, Kan. - Malvern High School graduate Maurice Johnson (Uniontown, Ohio) has signed a letter of intent to play Football next season at Tabor College.

Johnson, a 5-7, 170-pound running back and linebacker, rushed for 1773 yards and 20 touchdowns on his way to First Team Inter-Valley, and First Team All-Ohio honors.

He also contributed on the defensive side of the ball and special teams where he recorded seven sacks, while averaging 23 yards per kick return.

During his career at Malvern High School Johnson helped lead the Hornets to the Ohio state playoffs with a record of 11-2, including a record of 9-1, during the regular season.

"Maurice is going to add some depth to our backfield next season," said Head Football Coach Mike Gardner. "He had an exceptional high school career and knows how to win, and we are very anxious to see how he can adapt to the college game."

Maurice is the son of Tom and Beth Jackson.
