HILLSBORO, Kan. - La Porte High School senior Joel Ocampo (Houston, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to play football next season for Tabor College.

Ocampo, a 6-2, 258-pound offensive guard, will be looked at to help provide depth to the Bluejays offensive line next season.

During his career at La Porte High School, Ocampo earned Second Team All-District honors while helping lead the Bulldogs to a 9-4-1 record in 2009. He also part of an offensive line that helped pave the way for two running backs to rush for over 2,000 yards.

"Joel is a good young player with a very large upside," said Head Football Coach Mike Gardner. "We are excited about his choice to attend Tabor College and look forward to working with him over the next four years."

Joel is the son of Jesus Ocampo.
