Women's Tennis - Tue, May 18, 2010

HILLSBORO, Kan. - For the second consecutive season Tabor College sophomore tennis player Amanda Faber (Hillsboro, Kan.) was honored by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as she was named Second Team All-Conference in her second season of competition with the Lady Jays.

During the 2010 season, Faber played both number one singles and number one doubles along side junior Amanda Gayer (McPherson, Kan.).

Amanda had a great year playing at the top of our lineup," said Head Women's Tennis Coach Michael Hagen. "She was successful at number one singles and number one doubles all year, as she earned her second straight All-KCAC honors, as well as consistently being talked about for KCAC Scholar Athlete, and KCAC All-Academic honors."

During the Individual KCAC Tournament, Faber finished in fourth place with her only two losses coming from Bethany and Southwestern's number one players.

"Amanda shows the qualities needed for a student athlete to be successful both on the tennis court as well as in the classroom," added Hagen. She is definitely one of our team leaders and will be for the next two years as well."
