HILLSBORO, Kan. - Coming off the heels of the most wins in school history, the Tabor College Baseball team was honored this past week as six Bluejays were named to the All-KCAC Teams including the Player of the Year, four First Team All-KCAC selections, and a Second Team and Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection.
Senior Tyson Kendrick (Arkansas City, Kan.) was named KCAC Baseball Player of the Year and earned First Team All-KCAC honors as well as KCAC Player of the Week honors as the Bluejays everyday catcher.
Kendrick recorded one of the most successful individual seasons in Tabor baseball history, as he led the KCAC and the Bluejays in batting average at .441, on base percentage at .521, hits with 71, and doubles with 19. He also led the Bluejays in slugging percentage at .634, ranking him third in the KCAC, and RBI's with 52, ranking him second in the KCAC.
"Tyson was our leader both on and off the field," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "The numbers he put up this year and the honors that he has received have never been done here at Tabor.
Senior Paul Bridenbaugh (Peoria, Ariz.) also earned First Team All-KCAC honors, as both an extra fielder and relief pitcher. At the plate Bridenbaugh tied Kendrick in the regular season in batting average at .441, while finishing second in the KCAC and the Bluejays in hits with 67. He also finished third on the team in home runs with five, and was fourth on the team in RBI's with 38, ranking him 10th in the KCAC in both categories.

As a relief pitcher and the Bluejays closer, Bridenbaugh recorded a 4-1 record with four saves and a .377 ERA in 18 appearances this season. In 31 innings pitched, he allowed 13 earned runs on 27 hits with 10 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a .235 batting average. His four saves were also tied for first in the KCAC this season.
"Paul has made the most improvements of any player," said Standiford. "He was instrumental in most of our wins because of the success he had at the plate and on the mound."
Fellow senior Dustin Dick (Hutchinson, Kan.) also earned First Team All-KCAC honors and Gold Glove honors for his play as the Bluejays everyday centerfielder. As the Bluejays leadoff man, Dick led the Bluejays in runs scored with 51, and triples with two, good for third and fourth, respectively, in the KCAC. He was also second on the team and in the KCAC in home runs with nine, tied for second on the team in doubles with 13, and slugging percentage at .630, ranking him sixth and third overall in the KCAC. Dick's fielding percentage at .989 was also tops for Bluejay fielders, ranking him second in the KCAC.

"Dustin is the hardest worker on the team," said Standiford."He can go get a ball in the outfield and come up the next inning and hit one 450 feet. He will be hard to replace."
Sophomore CJ Henrichsen (Wichita, Kan.) also received First Team All-KCAC honors as the Bluejays everyday second baseman. Henrichsen was third on the team and fifth in the KCAC overall in batting average at .386, and second on the team and fourth overall in the KCAC in on base percentage, at .484. He also finished in the top 10 in the KCAC in runs scored, hits, RBI's, doubles, triples, and walks.
"CJ is the natural," said Standiford. "He is the purest hitter that I have ever coached, and has a chance to set a lot of records here at Tabor."

Freshman Nathan Rausch (Wichita, Kan.) capped off his first season as a Bluejay by earning Second Team All-KCAC honors and KCAC Player of the Week honors as the Bluejays everyday third baseman. Rausch led the KCAC and the Bluejays in home runs with 10, while finishing second on the team and fourth in the KCAC in RBI's with 49. He also finished in the top 10 in the KCAC in runs scored with 41, and hits with 58.
"Nathan had an outstanding freshman year," said Standiford."He has the ability to hit 20 home runs next year and he will be the anchor of our offense. Nathan is an outstanding player but an even better person."
Junior pitcher Tyler Fenton (Holcomb, Kan.) earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors and was named KCAC Pitcher of the Week for the Bluejays this season. On the mound Fenton recorded a 9-2 record with 5.08 ERA in 18 appearances this season. In 56 and two thirds innings, he allowed 32 earned runs on 65, hits with 37 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a .290 batting average. He finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the KCAC in ERA, innings pitched, strikeouts, and wins.
"Tyler has been our most consistent pitcher we have had the past two years," said Standiford. "In my mind he was a First Team All-KCAC selection."
