JUNCTION CITY - After struggling to score runs in its first game of the KCAC tournament Tabor's offense finally caught fire as the Bluejays defeated Sterling College 9-1, in an elimination game Saturday night in Junction City, Kan.

Tabor (33-18 Overall) will play top seeded Ottawa University Friday at Rathert Stadium in another elimination game. The first pitch is set for 11 a.m. with the winner advancing to play later that evening at 7 p.m.

After scoring only scoring one run on 10 in its first game of the tournament, Tabor's offense appeared to be heading down the same path as the Bluejays were held scoreless through four innings of play.

Sterling would get on the board first in the second inning on a solo home run to dead center field to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

Tabor would crack its scoreless drought and take its first lead of the game in the fifth inning, scoring twice behind some timely hitting and a crucial error by the Warriors to take a 2-1 lead.

After taking its first lead of the tournament Tabor would continue to gain momentum turning six hits and three Sterling errors into seven runs during the sixth and seventh innings to open-up a 9-1 lead, and run away with the victory.

Junior Tyler Fenton (Holcomb, Kan.) locked-up Warrior hitters all night before a rain delay in the eighth cut his night and bid for a complete-game short. Fenton went seven and two thirds innings allowing one run on just three hits while striking out four as he improved to 9-2 on the season.

Seniors Paul Bridenbaugh (Peoria, Ariz.) Andrew Cook (Rockwall, Texas) and freshman Nathan Rausch (Wichita, Kan.) each racked-up three hits in the game to pace the Bluejays offense. Junior Jake Mays (Colorado Springs, Colo.) chipped in offensively as he went 2-4 from the plate with a run scored and a game-high two RBI's.
