HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College
Men's Track and Field Team placed seventh out of nine teams at the Kansas
Collegiate Athletic Conference Track Meet held Friday and Saturday on the
campus of Ottawa University, in Ottawa, Kan.
Freshman
Ryan Chippeaux (Wichita, Kan.) earned All-KCAC honors after finishing in a tie
for second place in the high reaching a height of 1.93 meters.
The
Bluejays also had a strong showing in the throwing events as senior Tristan
Burrow (Great Bend, Kan.) freshman Michael Klaassen (Hillsboro, Kan.) and
junior Aaron Munsch (Great Bend, Kan.) placed four five and sixth in the hammer
throw with distances of 42.79 meters, 41.42 meters and 40.35 meters
respectively. Munsch also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.67
meters, while Klaassen placed sixth with a throw 13.40 meters.
Honorable
Mention All-conference honors (4th through 6th place) were earned by Burrow,
Klaassen, Munsch, senior Brent Nelsen (Peyton, Colo.) junior Justin Ball
(Welda, Kan.) and freshman Jacob Heil (Wichita, Kan.).
Tabor
relay teams that were named Honorable Mention All-Conference were the men's
4x100 which placed sixth with a time of 43.77 seconds. Members of the team
include Nelsen, Ball, sophomore Noah Collins (Brighton, Colo.), and freshman
Gabe Battis (Silver Lake, Kan.) The men's 4x400 meter relay team which placed
fourth with a time of 3:25.97. Members of the team include Nelsen, Ball, Battis
and sophomore Matt Spurgeon (Wichita, Kan.). The 4x800 meter relay team which
placed fourth with a time of 8:28. Members of the team include Nelsen, Ball,
Spurgeon, and sophomore Cody Arnold (Leon, Kan.)
