HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College Women's
Track and Field athlete Tasia Johnson has been named KCAC Women's Track and
Field Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance at the Enduro Classic
at Friends University in Wichita, Kan.
Johnson, a senior from Dallas, Texas, placed first in
three events, including the long jump in which she qualified for the NAIA
National Track and Field Championships with a jump of 5.51 meters (18'1").
She
also placed first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.50 seconds, and was
part of Tabor's 4 x 100 meter relay team which placed first with a time of
49.73.
"Tasia
is a gifted athlete and she is going to jump further and run faster before the
season is over," said Head Track and Field Coach Dave Kroeker. "She really came
from behind on Saturday running the anchor leg and that was gratifying to see."
