HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College Softball pitcher Roxanne
Rodriguez (McAllen,
Texas.) has been named KCAC Pitcher of the Week for helping lead the Bluejays to
two wins over Langston University.
Rodriguez,
a freshman, recorded her third shut-out of the season in as many tries as she
pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just two walks and four hits while
striking out eight in the Bluejays' 10-0 victory.
On
the season, Rodriguez has yet to allow a run . She has pitched 20 scoreless
innings, allowing just seven hits and eight walks while striking out 29 en
route to a 3-0 record on the year. She has also held opponents to an amazing
.100 batting average.
"I'm
really excited for Roxanne," said Head Softball Coach John Bassett."To
earn this honor at the beginning of the season as a freshman is quite an
accomplishment. I'm hoping this is the first of many of these awards for
Roxanne as she begins her college career."
