HILLSBORO, Kan. - Neosho County Community College transfer Derek Mendenhall (Derby, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play soccer next season at Tabor College.

Mendenhall, a 5-6, 150-pound midfielder, helped lead Neosho County Community College to back-to-back Region Six Tournament quarterfinal appearances including a 6-4-1 record in 2009.

While at Derby High School, Mendenhall also earned Second Team All-Region honors during his senior season for the Panthers.

"I am excited about Derek's decision to become a Bluejay," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Grant Brubacher. "His abilities on the wing will add a new dimension to our team. I look forward to working with Derek next fall and expect him to have a positive impact on our team."

Derek is the son of Kristin Mendenhall.
