HILLSBORO, Kan. - Lakin High School senior Zach Reed (Lakin, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play football next season for the Bluejays.

Reed, a 6-1, 200-pound linebacker, will help provide depth and help bring a physical presence to the Bluejays defense next season.

While at Lakin High School Reed earned All-League and All-Area honors by the Garden City Telegram, and was also a All-State Honorable Mention selection by the Topeka Capital Journal. Reed also helped lead the Broncos to a 6-4 record and the District Title for the first time in five years.

He has also excelled in the classroom as an Academic All-League performer in football, basketball, and track and field.

‘Zach has a real sense for finding the ball carrier," said Head Football Coach Mike Gardner. "He uses his pad level well and is a hitter. I am very eager to begin seeing him develop as a player and look forward to his arrival on campus this fall."

Zach is the son of Greg and Deena Reed.
