HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Baseball Team is beginning to find its rhythm early this season as the Bluejays swept visiting Dana College in a four-game series Friday and Saturday to extend its winning streak to seven games.


Tabor (9-5 Overall) will ride its momentum to Lawrence, Kan. on Wednesday March 10, to take on Division I and Big 12 opponent the University of Kansas in one nine inning game, beginning at 3 p.m.

In game one against Dana College on Friday, Tabor scored runs in the first four innings including four runs in the third and fourth innings en route to a 12-4 victory.


Senior Tyson Kendrick (Arkansas City, Kan.) led the Bluejays offense, as he went 3-4 from the plate with a game-high four RBI's, while fellow senior Andrew Cook (Rockwall, Texas) went 2-3 from the plate with two RBI's.


Junior Tyler Fenton (Holcomb, Kan.) pitched three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out two.


In game two, Tabor trailed for most of the game before pushing across the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to earn the 4-3 victory.


Senior Dustin Dick (Hutchinson, Kan.) led the Bluejays offense with a run scored and two RBI's as he went 1-2 from the plate. Sophomore CJ Henrichsen (Wichita, Kan.) went 2-2 from the plate, while freshman Taylor Douglas (Wichita, Kan.) went 2-3 from the plate with two runs to aid the Bluejays offense.


Sophomore Nate Percy (Pittsburg, Kan.) got the win for the Bluejays as he pitched two and two thirds innings allowing no runs on two hits.


On Saturday, in game one Tabor jumped out early, only to see Dana claim the lead. The Bluejays once again scored the winning run in the bottom the seventh to take the 8-7 victory.


Tabor was led offensively by Kendrick, who went 2-2 from the plate, including a home run with three RBI's and a run scored. Bridenbaugh chipped in offensively with a 3-3 day from the plate, while Cook and sophomore Brad Zewe (Westminster, Colo.) added two RBI's apiece.


Senior Jared DeRusha (Willow, Okla.) picked up the victory for the Bluejays as he pitched two innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out one.


In game two, Tabor exploded for seven runs in the first inning and added four runs in the third and fourth innings as the Bluejays cruised to the 16-5 victory and completed the four-game sweep.


Tabor recorded 17 hits for the game led by Bridenbaugh, Dick, and freshman Nathan Rausch (Wichita, Kan.), who each homered and combined for 11 RBI's to pace the Bluejays offense.


Sophomore Nick Trompert (Dallas, Texas) got the start and the win for the Bluejays as he pitched two and a third innings allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out one.
