HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Men's Basketball Team fell to KCAC regular season Champion Friends University, 82-66, Saturday night in Wichita, Kan. to close out regular season play.
The Bluejays, who finished in eighth place in the regular season, will play host to ninth-seeded Bethel College at 7 p.m. Monday Feb. 22, in the KCAC Conference Tournament.
The winner of the tournament will earn an automatic bid to the 2010 NAIA National Tournament, in Branson, Mo.
In Tabor's game against Friends, both teams traded baskets in the opening minutes before Friends opened up an early lead and never looked back. The Falcons took a 42-29 lead into the break.
In the second half, Tabor cut the lead to 10 but that's as close as it would get. The Bluejays struggled to slow down Friends' offense as the Falcons earned the victory.
Senior Dan Hann (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the Bluejays offensively with 12 points, while sophomore Cody Arnold (Leon, Kan.) added 11 points and junior Damon Dechant (Kit Carson, Colo.) chipped in with 10 points. Dechant also grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.
