HILLSBORO, Kan. - Moundridge High School seniors Hollister Wolf (Moundridge, Kan.) and Jessie Vogts (Moundridge, Kan.) have signed letters of intent to play volleyball next season for the 2009 KCAC conference champion Tabor College Bluejays.

Wolf, a 5-4 setter, and Vogts, a 6-0 outside hitter, helped lead the Wildcats to a 36-9 record, a second place finish in the Canton tournament, a share of the Heart of America league title, the sub-state tournament title, and the 2009 Class 2A State title.

"We are thrilled to sign Holli and Jessie," said Head Volleyball Coach Amy Ratzlaff. "They are exceptionally talented and come from a program with a very strong tradition of excellence. They have been trained well, and they know how to win. Those qualities will immediately impact our program."

During her career at Moundridge High School, Wolf set the career record for assists on her way to being named the 2009 Class 2A Player of the Year.

Wolf was a two-time First Team All-Heart of America League selection, a two-time Hutchinson First Team All-Area selection, and a two-time All-State Tournament selection, earned Second Team and First Team All-State honors.

Wolf has also excelled in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society, a four-year member of the high honor, as well as a four year letter winner in academics.

"Holli's great hands as a setter and tremendous court awareness will add strength to our offense," said Ratzlaff. "She has been exposed to running a solid offense for years and understands strategy. Holli holds the career record for assists at Moundridge and I think that speaks volumes for her ability. Aside from the volleyball court, she is just a natural fit with the team and will add to the spirit of Tabor Volleyball."

Vogts, the 2009 Hutchinson News Volleyball Player of the Year, set the single season record for kills during her senior season at Moundridge High School.

Vogts was a two-time First Team All-Heart of America League selection, a two-time Hutchinson First Team All-Area selection, and a two-time All-State Tournament selection, as well as being named Second Team and First Team All-State during her four year career.

Vogts has also excelled in the classroom as a four year member of the high honor roll as well as a four year recipient of the Scholar Athlete award.

"I've seen Jessie grow up over the years and turn into one of the best hitters in Kansas," said Ratzlaff. "Winning ballgames is in her blood and you can sense that when you see her play. Being named All-Class Player of the Year and breaking the school's single season kill record are indicators of the impact she could have on our program. For many years she was in our gym and part of our program as her sister played at Tabor. Now it feels like Jessie is already one of us and we are ready to see her contribute to the program.

"An outside hitter and her setter often have a special connection," added Ratzlaff. "Jessie and Holli are no exception. Individually they are both outstanding athletes. These two have played together for so long that together they could be an unstoppable pair."

Jessie is sister of former Tabor College Volleyball player Lindsey Vogts and the daughter of Mark and Joyce Vogts.

Hollister is the daughter of Mark Wolf.
