
HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Men's Basketball team completed a two-game sweep of Ottawa University Thursday night as the Bluejays defeated the visiting Braves in impressive fashion, 68-51.
Tabor opened the game with a quick 9-2, run and would never look back. The Bluejays used a strong defensive effort to keep the Braves at bay and headed into the break leading by eight, 35-27.
Tabor continued to ramp up its defense in the second half in which the Bluejays held the Braves to just 24 points while pushing its lead to as many as 20 points en route to its second victory of the season against Ottawa.
Three Bluejays scored in double figures. Sophomore Cody Arnold (Leon, Kan.) led Tabor with 16 points and seven rebounds, while junior Damon Dechant (Kit Carson, Colo.) added 12 points. Freshman Michael Janzen (Hesston, Kan.) chipped in with 11 points.
Freshman Ryan Chippeaux (Wichita, Kan.) also chipped
offensively with nine points to go along with six rebounds and a game-high six
steals.
Tabor (5-8 KCAC, 8-14 Overall) will host Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in Hillsboro, Kan
