Hillsboro,
Kan. - The Tabor College Women's Basketball
team broke snapped its four game skid by defeating the visiting Lady
Braves of Ottawa University 59-52, Thursday night.
Tabor came out quick and grabbed an
early 8-0 lead by pushing the ball and finding the gaps in the Lady Brave
defense. Tabor had to deal with two lead changes and three ties in
the first half but held a four-point lead, 24-20, going into
the half.
In the second half, the Lady Jays
fought through four lead changes and eight ties in holding back Ottawa's
comeback bid,ensuring their fifth victory of the season.
Sophomore MacKenzie Dick (Henderson,
Neb.) led the Lady Jays offensively with a season high 20 points to go along
with four steals.
Freshman Tynan Honn (Hutchinson,
Kan.) chipped in 18 points and eight rebounds, while senior Stephanie Silvas
(Dexter, N.M.) snagged seven rebounds.
Tabor (4-9 KCAC, 5-18 Overall) will host Kansas Wesleyan
University on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. in Hillsboro, Kan.
