Sarah Wyckoff scored a season high 14 points for the Lady Jays

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College Lady Jays fell to the Bethel College, 66-63, in North Newton on Thursday night.


The Lady Jays gained the early lead on the strength of it defensive pressure that caused early turnovers, stretching their lead to11-2 in the first eight minutes of play. Bethel battled back against the defensive pressure, but Tabor went into halftime with a 39-29 lead.


Coming out of halftime, the Lady Jays saw their 10 point lead shrink against Bethel's defensive pressure, losing their lead.Throughout the rest of the second half the teams battled on both ends of the court. Ultimately,Tabor lost, 66-63.


Freshman Tynan Honn (Hutchinson, Kan.) led the Lady Jays offensively with 15 points and 13 rebounds.


Sophomore Sarah Wyckoff (Blackwell, Okla.) also led the Lady Jays with a season high 14 points, as well as freshman Vivian Olvera (Plains, Kan.) with 13 points.


Tabor (3-8 KCAC, 4-17 Overall) will take on McPherson College on Saturday, Jan 30, at 5 p.m. in McPherson, Kan.
