Lawson Kingsley came off the bench to net 18 points for the Bluejays

Hillsboro, Kan. - The Tabor College Men's Basketball team resumed conference play in impressive fashion on the road Thursday night in Salina, Kan., where the Bluejays road a big second half to defeat Kansas Wesleyan University, 72-59.


The win was not only Tabor's third victory in KCAC play but its third road win in conference play.


Tabor jumped out to an early lead only to have the Coyotes regain the lead midway through the first half. The Bluejays battled back, however, and the game at was tied, 30-30,at halftime.


The Bluejays fell behind by six, 38-32, just four minutes into the second half, before using a 21-6, run over the next six minutes to take a 53-44 lead they would never surrender.


Tabor was led offensively by junior Damon Dechant (Kit Carson, Colo.) with 20 points to go along nine rebounds, while freshman Lawson Kingsley (Sedgewick, Kan.) came off the bench to rack up 18 points including four of eight shooting from behind the arc.


Senior Kyle Kroeker (Hillsboro, Kan.) also chipped in offensively with 13 points, while sophomore Cody Arnold (Leon, Kan.) filled the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, and four assists off the bench.


Tabor (3-2 KCAC, 6-8 Overall) will return to home to host Bethany College Saturday Jan. 9, at 7 p.m
