Hillsboro, Kan. - Hillsboro High School senior Nathan Vogel (Hillsboro, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to compete in track and field next season for the Bluejays.
Vogel, a 400 and 800 meter runner, will be looked at to provide an immediate impact to the Bluejays track and field team in 2011.
While at Hillsboro High School Vogel has been a two-time league champion in the 400 meters and ran on the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay teams for the Trojans. He is a two-time state qualifier in the 400 meters and 4x400 meter relay team, placing fourth in the 400 meters in 2008, second in the relay in 2008, and third in the relay in 2009. Vogel is also a three-time state qualifier in the 4x800 meter relay, earning a second place finish in 2008 and a third place finish in 2009.
Along with excelling on the track, Vogel has excelled in the classroom, carrying a 3.98 GPA to go along with a 29 ACT score.
"Nathan will bring excellent 400 meter and 800 meter times to the Tabor Men's Track team from an excellent track program at Hillsboro High School," said Head Men's Track Coach Dave Kroeker. "I'm looking forward to helping Nathan develop even further as an athlete and to his contribution to a championship men's track team at Tabor."
David is the son of Dr. Brad and Bev Vogel of Hillsboro. Brad is Professor of Choral Music at Tabor.
