Hillsboro,
Kan. - With a KCAC regular season title in
hand, the Tabor College Volleyball team turned its attention to the KCAC
conference tournament, using a dominating performance to defeat McPherson
College in three games (25-17, 25-13, 25-14) to move into the semifinal round
of tournament play.
Tabor will host both semifinal
match-ups Friday Oct. 13 starting at 6 p.m. as Sterling College will take on
Friends University, followed by Tabor College vs. Bethel College at 8 p.m. The
winner of the tournament will receive an automatic to the 2009 NAIA National
Volleyball Tournament.
The Bluejays made quick work of the
Bulldogs, winning the three games by a total of 31 points.
Tabor was led offensively by sophomores
Tina Frick (Durham, Kan.) and Gina Hullet (Abilene, Kan.) who combined for 17
kills, while fellow sophomore setter Mandi Phillips (Halstead, Kan.) dished out
23 assists.
Senior Erin Dick led the charge
defensively for the Bluejays as she racked-up a team high 10 digs on the night,
while Phillips chipped in with eight, and senior Audra Schenk (Hillsboro, Kan.)
added seven.
