Hillsboro, Kan. - The 2009 Tabor College Men's Soccer season came to a close Friday night in Wichita, Kan. as the fifth seeded Bluejays fell to fourth seeded Friends University 5-0, in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Men's Soccer Tournament.

"I was proud of the effort we made in the second half to try and get back in the match," said Head Coach Grant Brubacher. "We obviously we not ready to play at the start and could not recover quickly enough."

Friends, wasted little time getting on the board early and often as the Falcons tallied four first half goals in a 15 minute span.

The Falcons would add a fifth goal early on in the second half to earn the victory and advance to the semifinals of the KCAC Men's Soccer Tournament.

Tabor's offense struggled all night to find the back of the net as Friends out shot the Bluejays 22 to 11 in the match.

For seniors Aaron Schumcker (Inman, Kan.), Dallas Pruitt (McPherson, Kan.), Andy Adrian (Buhler, Kan.), and Geoff Lanham (Fort Collins, Colo.) it was their final game for the Bluejays as all four will be truly missed.

"Our seniors provided quality leadership throughout this season," added Brubacher. All of them played important roles and their contributions to the program have been significant. All of them played four years at Tabor and they will be greatly missed."

Despite the losses the future looks bright for Tabor as the Bluejays return three of their four All-KCAC selections as well as a host of young players that gained valuable experience throughout the season.

The Bluejays finished the 2009 regular season in fifth place in the KCAC with a recorded of 5-4 and 8-10-1 overall.
