Hillsboro, Kan - Senior forward Jessica Burden (Little Elm, Texas) has been named KCAC Offensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-KCAC as the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference honored two Lady Jays soccer players for their efforts this season.
Senior goalkeeper Aubrey Whitehorn (Duncanville, Texas) was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC.
Burden, who is called JB by her friends and teammates, led the KCAC in
points with 39, which tied for 15th in the nation. This included 19
goals, tied for 9th in the nation, and shots with 77, ranking her
18th in the nation.
"JB had an outstanding senior year," said Head Coach Grant Brubacher. "Her offensive production was her best in her four years at Tabor. Her importance to our attack was known by every team and she still produced. Her national rankings show how much she deserves this award. I am very proud of her growth as a player during the three years I've coached her."
Despite the Lady Jays record, goalkeeper Whitehorn had one of the best
seasons statistically of any goalie in the nation. She led the KCAC in saves
with 160 good for 7th in the nation, as well as saves per-game with
an average of 9.41, good for 9th in the nation.

"Aubrey has consistently been ranked in the top 10 in the nation for saves during the last 3 seasons," said Brubacher. "This recognition comes without a great goals against average, but is a testament to Aubrey's abilities. She kept us in every conference match and was a key factor in our ability to be competitive. She is very deserving of this award."
