Hillsboro,
Kan. -
Brutally cold weather conditions were no problem for the Tabor College
Men's Soccer Team Saturday night as the Bluejays flexed their muscles both
offensively and defensively and defeated visiting Bethany College in
dominating fashion by the score of 7-0.
The
Bluejays heated up frigid Joel H. Wiens Stadium midway through the first
half as senior Andy Adrian (Buhler, Kan.) exploded for three goals and junior
Nicholas Ouzounis (Aurora, Colo.) added a goal of his own. Tabor went into the
break with a comfortable, 4-0, lead.
Tabor's
offense continued to fire on all cylinders in the second half, as freshman
David Simmet (Mainz, Germany) junior Marcos Bandeira (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and
Ouzounis all found the back of the net, and the Bluejays cruised to victory.
Offensively
Tabor moved the ball well as five of the seven goals were assisted on led by
sophomore Liam Mclean (Newcastle, England) with two assists, while sophomore
Robert Masson (Dalgety Bay, Scotland) junior JD Tippin (Hillsboro, Kan.) and
Adrian each added one apiece.
Senior
goalkeeper Aaron Schmucker (Inman, Kan.) stopped all three shots he faced en
route to his third shutout of the season.
Tabor
(2-1 KCAC, 5-6-1 Overall) will return to action Wednesday Oct. 14 as the
Bluejays will host Southwestern College at 7 p.m.
