Hillsboro, Kan. -
The Tabor College Men's Soccer Team snapped its five game winless streak
Tuesday night in Hillsboro, Kan. as the Bluejays won in dramatic fashion
defeating Central Christian College in double-overtime by the score of 2-1.
Junior Josh Reiswig's goal set up by fellow junior Nicholas
Ouzounis (Aurora, Colo.) just three
minutes into the second overtime broke the 1-1 tie to give the Bluejays the
victory.
Tabor controlled much of the first half play, but managed
only one goal in the half off the foot of senior Any Adrian (Buhler, Kan.) as
the Bluejays went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
Central Christian would answer back with a goal of their own
at the 78 minute mark to tie the score at one apiece, a score that would stand
through regulation and the first overtime period.
The Bluejays got a solid performance out of senior
goalkeeper Aaron Schmucker (Inman, Kan.) as he tallied six saves in the match
in route to his third victory of the season.
Tabor (3-4-1) will open up KCAC play Saturday Oct. 3, in
Leavenworth, Kan. as the Bluejays take on the University of St. Mary at 3 p.m.
