Hillsboro,
Kan. -
The Tabor College Men's Soccer Team fell to Sooner Conference power the
University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Saturday afternoon in Hillsboro,
Kan. by the score of 4-0.
USAO
did not waste much time getting on the board early and often in the first half
as the Drovers scored all four goals in the first half including two in the
first 12 minutes of the match.
Tabor's
defense would play much better in the half as the Bluejays were able to hold
the Drovers scoreless. Despite the four goals senior goalkeeper Aaron Schmucker
(Inman, Kan.) had a solid day in net recorded 13 saves in the match.
"The
guys did not handle the pressure USAO applied to us early in the match," said
Head Coach Grant Brubacher. "We played much better in the second half after
making some adjustments, but we're unable to overcome the deficit we created
for ourselves. As the conference season
approaches, we need to find a more consistent game."
Tabor
(2-4-1) will host Central Christian College Tuesday Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. at the
beautiful new Joel H. Wiens Stadium.
