Hillsboro, Kan. - Garden Plain High School graduate Jayme Regier (Garden Plain, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play baseball next season for the Bluejays.

Regier, a 5-11, 165-pound pitcher and first baseman, will be looked at to provide immediate help to the Bluejays pitching staff next season.

Because his high school had no baseball program; Regier played his baseball career at Andale High School. There he helped lead the Indians to a runner-up finishes at the Class 4A Kansas State Baseball Tournament and the NBC World Series in 2008 earning Second Team All-League honors before injuries sidelined him during the 2009 season.

"Jayme will come in and compete for a starting or middle relief position next season," said Head Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He posses a very good fastball with good movement, and has played under Brian Holman, at Andale High School so he will have a good knowledge and feel for the game."

Jayme is the son of Gene and Theresa Regier.
