Hillsboro, Kan. - Medicine Lodge
High School graduate Zach Richert
(Medicine Lodge, Kan.) has signed a letter of
intent to play baseball next season for Tabor College.
Richert, a 6-0, 160-pound centerfielder and pitcher, will be
looked at to provide depth in both the outfield and on the mound next season
for the Bluejays.
While at Medicine Lodge High School, Richert batted .538 and
was named Honorable Mention All-Central Plains as an outfielder. He helped lead
the Indians to a runner up finish in the Central Plains League, the regional title, and a trip to the class 3A Kansas State Baseball Tournament with a record
of 19-4.
He has also excelled in the classroom as a four year
member of the high school honor roll.
"Zach will be a two way guy for us next season," said Head
Baseball Coach Mark Standiford. "He will provide us with a left handed
option out of the bullpen as well as give us depth in the outfield. Zach is
also and outstanding student, and will be a great fit to the Tabor College
community."
