Hillsboro, Kan. - Washburn University
transfer Amanda Gayer (McPherson, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to play Tennis next
season for Tabor College.
Gayer, a 5-5, 130-pound singles and doubles player, will make
an immediate impact for the Lady Jays tennis team next season.
While at McPherson
High School, Gayer helped
lead the Bullpups to two league titles, three regional titles, and two third
place team titles in the Class 5A Kansas State Tennis Tournament.
Gayer, a three-time regional champ and two-time league
singles champ, was named a four-time Class 5A All-State selection at McPherson High School. She was also honored on the
Wall of Fame at McPherson
High School for the most
wins in school history.
Gayer also has excelled in the classroom as she was named to
the Class 5A All-Academic Team for four straight years.
"Amanda's signing is outstanding news for our women's tennis
program, as well as the Tabor College Community," said Head Women's Tennis
Coach Michael Hagen. "Coming from a successful tennis program like Washburn University,
I have no doubt she will transfer that success to Tabor College."
Amanda is the daughter of Doug and Tamara Gayer.
