Hillsboro, Kan. - Junior
Mike Rousell (New Orleans, La.) led the Tabor College Men's Track Team
at the Emporia State Relays as he qualified for the NAIA National Track and
Field Meet in the triple jump with a mark of 46' 8".
"A cold and windy beginning turned into a warm and windy
afternoon of excellent results both in total and considering the windy
conditions," said Head Track and Field Coach Dave Kroeker.
The Bluejays competed
in a field of competitors that included athletes from Wichita State,
Division II Emporia State, national NAIA track power Oklahoma Baptist, and the
University of Missouri-KC.
Several Tabor Athletes turned in excellent early-season
performances Senior Brad Kiser (Delphos,
Kan.) placed fifth in the 110m
high hurdles.400m runner, junior Brent Nelsen (Peyton,
Colo.), came in sixth on the men's side while
sophomore Justin Ball (Welda,
Kan.) ran a strong 800m race finishing
second.
"Any of the races longer than 200 meters were really tough on
Saturday with the wind so those track performances from 400 meters up were
really excellent for the windy conditions," Kroeker added.
Tabor will compete at the ACCK at Bethel
College in North Newton, Kan.
Friday April 10 at 1 p.m.
