Sophomore Justin Ball (Welda, Kan.) was Named KCAC Track Athlete of the Week

Hillsboro, Kan. - Sophomore Justin Ball (Welda, Kan.) was named KCAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance in the McPherson Invitational, helping lead the Bluejays to a third place team finish last Saturday.


Ball, won the 800 meters and set a new personal record with a time of 1:56.74 in his first outdoor race of the season. Ball also finished third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:18.33


"Justin had his personal best performance in the 800m in the first meet of the year after running third in the 1500 meters earlier in the meet," said Head Men's Track and Field Coach Dave Kroeker."Running the fastest 800 in his life at the beginning of the season sets him up to really have an outstanding year this spring. He also ran a very fast (sub-50 second) leg in the 4 x 400m relay."
