Hillsboro, Kan. - The
Tabor College Men's Track and Field Team opened its 2009 outdoor season with a
third place team finish Saturday at the McPherson College Invitational, in McPherson, Kan.
Tabor placed third out of seven teams with 106 points in a field that included
five KCAC schools.
Sophomore Zach Gould (Sioux
City, Iowa) led the
Bluejays' setting a new school record in the 10,000 meters with a time of
35:22.3. Sophomore Justin Ball (Welda,
Kan.) had a strong day for the
Bluejays, winning the 800 meters, setting a personal record with a time of
1:56.74.
Other track and field athletes who competed at McPherson
include Jordan Stahl (Yale, S.D.), Chris Roddy (Pflugerville, Texas), Noah Collins (Brighton, Colo.), Brent Nelsen (Peyton, Colo.), Ric Johnson (Hillsboro, Kan.), Matt Spurgeon
(Wichita, Kan.), junior Dustin Burnett (Council Grove, Kan.), Drew Crosson (Minneapolis,
Kan.), Ralph Manous (Okmulgee, Okla.), Aaron Munsch (Great Bend, Kan.), Richard
Snyder (Warren, Ore.), Matt Fox (Council
Grove, Kan.), Thomas Jackson (Uniontown, Ohio), junior Tristan Burrow (Great
Bend, Kan.), Adam Dirks (Hillsboro, Kan.).
"This meet was a really good start for our outdoor season,"
said Head Men's Track and Field coach Dave Kroeker.
Tabor will travel to North Newton,
Kan. on Wednesday, March 18, to compete in the
Bethel College Twilight on the campus of Bethel College.
