Hillsboro, Kan. - Silver Lake High School senior Gabe Battis (Silver Lake, Kan.) has signed a letter of intent to run track next season for the Bluejays.

Battis, a 6-1, 165-pound sprinter, will bring speed and depth to the Bluejays short distance runners next season.

While at Silver Lake High School, Battis competed in the 100 meters, and on 4 x 100 meter relay team that took third at the state track meet.

"Gabe will bring more speed to our team and that is always needed," said Head Track Coach Dave Kroeker. "He is a fine young man and a good student who will be a very positive addition to our campus."

Gabe is the son of Rick and Gwen Battis.
