Hillsboro, Kan. – After a thrilling 5-4 road victory over Friends University the Tabor College women's tennis team fell short in its second conference match of the season Monday afternoon in Hillsboro, Kan. The Lady Jays won just one of its nine matches before falling to Kansas Wesleyan University by the score of 8-1.

 

Sophomore Rebecca Faber won Tabor's only match of the day in No. 1 singles as she defeated Janel Prather 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in a thrilling third set tie breaker. Junior Anna Friesen nearly earned the Lady Jays a victory in No. 2 singles but came up just short in a third set tie breaker against Tia Irwin 3-6, 6-4, 4-6.

 

The Lady Jays dropped all three of its doubles matches as well as Kansas Wesleyan won the rest of its matches in two sets to come away with the victory.

 

Tabor (1-1 KCAC, 2-6 Overall) will travel to take on Bethel College Thursday April 11, in North Newton, Kan.
