Hillsboro, Kan. – Students, athletes, and fans will return to campus this fall to find a major facelift to the Tabor College gymnasium.  The project was finished this past week.

The gymnasium, which is home to the Bluejays men's and women's basketball teams along with the volleyball team, got a complete new paint job, which included the walls and the playing surface.  Along with repainting the new collegiate three point lines and charging arc, the makeover also included moving the competition volleyball court from the south side to the center of the basketball court.

Other features on the court included a giant Power Jay, the schools logo, in the center of the court.  The words "BLUEJAYS" were written on the baselines in the schools official font.

Additionally, the walls have been completely re-designed including the north wall that now features a full length graphic of Tabor College along with the Power Jay logo. The other three walls were painted white, while the brick behind the team's benches were painted blue to match the wall and the court.

Vice-President for Athletics, Rusty Allen had this to say, "Volleyball and basketball games on the Tabor campus have always drawn great fan support.  The teams and the fans have done a great job and we are excited for the new look in the gym.  Excellence is something we are committed to in the Tabor athletic department and facilities are a big part of that.  I am thankful for all those who generously gave to make the remodel project in our gym a reality."

The volleyball team will be the first to compete in the remodeled gymnasium on September 5, 2012 against McPherson College.  All Tabor constituents are invited to stop by and take a look at their convenience.
