Dayna Wohlgemuth scored her second goal of the season in the win

Hillsboro, Kan. – The Tabor College women's soccer team earned its first KCAC victory of the season shutting out rival Bethel College by the score off 2-0 Saturday night at Joel H. Wiens Stadium in Hillsboro, Kan.

 

Freshman Jessica Renzelman broke a scoreless tie during the 37th minute to give the Tabor a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break. The goal was Renzelman's team leading sixth of the season, as she also leads the Lady Jays in points with 13. 

 

In the second half sophomore Dayna Wohlgemuth would add to the Bluejays lead with her second goal the season during the 77th minute to give the Lady Jays a comfortable 2-0 lead. With a two-goal lead in hand Tabor's defense would finish off the job rendering the Threshers scoreless through all 90 minutes of play to earn its fifth victory of the season.

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Chelsea Brown got the start in net and earned the shutout victory stopping all seven shots she faced on the night, as Tabor outshot Bethel 18-13 and 11-7 with shots on goal in the match.

 

Tabor (1-6 KCAC, 5-10 Overall) will travel to take on Friends University Wednesday Oct. 26, in Wichita, Kan. with game time set for 6 p.m.
