HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Tabor College men's soccer team's bid for a fourth straight victory fell short Tuesday night in Hillsboro, Kan. as the Bluejays were shutout by the Eagles of Southwestern Christian University by the score of 1-0.
After a scoreless first half the Eagles would find the back of the net with just over 20 minutes left to play in the match to take the first lead of the night at 1-0. Tabor, which had tallied 11 goals in its first four matches, could not find the back of the net for the first time all year as the Eagles held on for the one-goal victory.
Sophomore Dalton Burkhard got the start in goal and recorded a season-high nine saves on the night as the Eagles outshot the Bluejays 16-13 and 10-6 with shots on goal in the match.
Tabor (3-2 Overall) will travel to take on Avila University Friday, Sept 16, in Kansas City, Mo. Match time is set for 4 p.m. from the campus of Avila University.
